The Gateway Project provides public library service to Central Arkansas residents without charging a non-resident fee to patrons outside Laman Library's service area (Pulaski County).
Library patrons who are Gateway cardholders have borrowing privileges at any of the participating libraries and, therefore, have access to a 1.5 million-volume collection at no cost.
Cardholders must have a current library card from their home library and be at least 14 years of age. (Age requirements may differ at the participating libraries.)
Cardholders must apply for a letter of good-standing for the Gateway card at their home library in the county in which they reside. Gateway cards must be renewed each year. At the time of renewal, Gateway card holders must return to their home library in their county of residence and request a new letter of good-standing. That letter must be brought to the library and we will renew the Gateway card.
Library patrons must follow the procedures of the system from which materials are borrowed. The gateway card holder is responsible for returning materials to the library from which they were checked out. Materials should be returned on or before the due date. Late and/or unreturned materials may cause the borrower to accrue fines and fees.
