Have you ever sat down in a bookstore with a steaming cup of coffee and a book that quickly became far too captivating to leave on the shelf? Before you know it, you’re either forking over 20 bucks or leaving the book at the store.
At Laman Library, feel free to get lost in a work of literature because after you finish your “Overdue Brew,” you can take the book home with you...for free!
And if you’re not in the mood to read, hop onto our free wireless internet that works all throughout the library and even outside in the plaza.
In March of 2010, Laman Library embarked on opening a library-owned, in-house coffee shop. And who better to give it a name than our patrons?
After hundreds of suggestions from our Facebook fans, we narrowed it down to six finalists, then let our fans vote on which one they liked the best.
With a resounding lead, Overdue Brew, submitted by Paul Strack, won the contest.
And while we're thrilled with the name, we're even more excited to be the first library in the state, and possibly the region, to use social media as a way to let our customers help shape services!
