Each registered participant must have their own Laman Library card.Registration begins Monday, June 2, 2008 in the Children’s Department. Online only pre-registration begins Monday, May 19, 2008. Readers may enroll in person or online anytime during the program through Friday, July 18, 2008. Online registration may be completed using the child’s library card by following the links below, or from the Laman Library's Homepage. Each participant who enrolls in the program will receive a bag, a button, a pencil and a reading log to record the number of chapters read.
Readers' names will be posted in the library as they receive stickers for every 3 chapters read. Throughout the program readers will receive special incentives*.
Teens (Entering 7th grade & up) can sign up here. Children (ages 5-12) can sign up here. Non-Readers may enroll in the You Read To Me program. Small children will be given a sticker for every three chapters read to them. The stickers will be posted on a sheet in the library. Non-readers will also receive special incentives throughout the program*.
REPORTING: Participants may REPORT to the staff the number of chapters read in the Children's Department only once a day Participants may also report online by following the links on this page, or at the library's homepage.
An End-of-Program Party honoring all participants will be on the evening of Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 6:30pm. Join us for an evening of outdoor fun in the Laman Plaza with special guest Brian Kinder!
Each participant will be able to pick up his or her certificate. Top readers in each grade will receive a ribbon and have a book placed in the library with his/her name in it.
ActivitiesTuesday Afternoon Activities will be for grade-school children at 2PM.
Wednesday Morning Activities will be at 10AM and will feature guest speakers and storytellers.
Thursday Evening Activities will be for children and their families at 7:00 PM.

* Incentives will be given each week to children who report chapters read. All incentives are given out at the discretion of the Laman Library Children's Staff.
All Programs are Free and Open to the Public.
